More space to live!
Compacted building makes screeds and other storage space disappear. The financial interest of many builders and buyers falls primarily on the beautiful, bright living spaces. Screeds are removed and converted into living space - storage space does not bring any profit.

The trend is towards ever smaller apartments in the cities, as living space in the conurbations becomes more and more expensive. Only those areas are rented that are absolutely necessary for living. Many city dwellers state that they have too little space in their apartments. To rent a storage room is often cheaper, the need can be covered square meter-exactly and in the own four walls is again more place for living.

What is self-storage and who needs it?

Self-storage is the term used to describe storage in locked, secure, privacy-protected and easily accessible individual rental units of various sizes with flexible rental periods. Due to the constant changes in the professional and private life situation and the mobility of people, self-storage is also in trend in Switzerland and the demand for self-storage storage boxes is constantly increasing.

Short term storage customer "Quick Mover"

  • the new apartment or house is not yet ready to move in
  • renovation
  • separation / divorce
  • inheritance
  • other emergency like e.g. a water damage

Medium-term warehouse customer

  • job-related stay abroad
  • study-related semester abroad
  • relocation of a family member to a retirement home
  • apartment consolidation

Long-term warehouse customer

  • general lack of space, e.g. due to a move to a smaller apartment or an apartment without cellar/screed
  • people living in the city, who enjoy a certain prosperity and have accumulated things over the years that now have no place anymore - "Modern Liver"
  • external storage for hobbyists and collectors

Tradesmen and companies (usually medium to long-term)

  • lack of space in the office, in the storehouse/archive
  • seasonal storage (e.g. garden furniture of restaurants)
  • external archive (e.g. file storage for doctors, lawyers etc.)
  • external warehouse (e.g. for online stores) or spare parts warehouse
  • interim storage for semi-finished products
  • storage room for freelancers or for partial work/home work

Approximately two thirds of the customers are private individuals and one third are tradesmen (craftsmen, SMEs and large companies, trade/production/service companies). The classic warehouse customers do not exist in either the B2C or B2B sectors, as the reasons for storage are of a very different nature.
